“It’ll just be 8k.”

I put the phone down with a startled look in my eyes and a knot in my throat.

*Big gulp knowing I had only $2,000 to my name*

“Sure, let’s do it.”

At this moment I was introduced to the high-ticket coaching world.

I had never heard of the term “high ticket” until I joined this mastermind.

That was 4 years ago. Since then, more and more people have become high ticket coaches and learned how to do so through joining masterminds with high ticket fees, minimum $6000+.

And unfortunately, a lot of those high-ticket coaches are struggling to get clients with the information they were given by these masterminds.

To make it worse, many of these entrepreneurs quit completely and do so with the heavy weight of failure and a lot of times, debt on their shoulders.

So in this article, I’ll be sharing something that can help high-ticket coaches discover a new way to get clients. An even better way to get clients.

One that doesn’t require you to chase leads 24/7 or burn cash on ad “testing.”

As a result, you’ll have more time to do the work you love without having to worry about where your next lead is coming from.

Oh — and you’ll have more time to do you know…whatever you want.

So, if that is appealing to you in any way, even just a bit, then buckle up for an article that may just make you more than the mastermind you paid $10,000+ for.

But first

The Old Way Of Getting Clients

Now, don’t get me wrong — the mentor I paid was a damn good return on my investment.

I brought in just over a quarter of a million dollars in 18 months. Pretty good for a $6,000 investment, wouldn’t you say?

But the problem was that after my first two 18 months of winning, everything came to a near-sudden halt.

The same strategies I was using for getting clients just stopped working.

I was told to make 2 social media post a day, add 50 ideal clients on Facebook daily and start 100 new conversations in the DM’s to get high-ticket clients.

In my first 18 months, this worked beautifully, but suddenly everything stopped working.

And not just for me, but for a lot of my friends.

I know at least a dozen people off the top of my head that were once making really good money using those methods that aren’t even in business anymore.

It’s like the strategy was watered out.

So I had to get back to the drawing board, but I struggled to create any solutions because I had only been taught how to do these other things like create content and sell people over DM’s and the phone.

My creativity had been cluttered by all of the advice I was getting from many mentors, and I was feeling helpless and depleted because of it.

The New Way Of Getting Clients

However, by the magic of the internet, I discovered someone people called “The Godfather of Marketing.”

Also known as the 19 Billion Dollar man, Jay Abraham is a business mastermind who has spent decades helping entrepreneurs and companies reach their full potential.

He’s a master of strategy and a natural problem-solver, with a knack for seeing opportunities where others see roadblocks.

In other words, he thinks outside of the box. And studying his work forced my mind to crack open and begin seeing new opportunities to pull in brand-new clients.

While listening to a podcast of his one day he said something that changed the way I thought about business forever.

“The greatest determinant of greatness is going to be our ability to collaborate with others who have the pieces we don’t.”

This got me thinking…why the heck am I not leveraging the resources of people who had what I needed…in exchange for something they needed or wanted?

So I started to think, “What is it that I don’t have?”

And it was clear… “Attention.”

I didn’t have the amount of attention I needed to make the income I desired.

I knew for a fact that I had a great offer, I just needed to get more eyes on it.

So instead of marketing to my ideal client, I began marketing to people who had the audience of the people who had my ideal client.

I thought, “If I could get endorsed by them, I wouldn’t have to worry about where my next client is coming from.”

I then began strategizing…

“What does my audience consume? Where are they spending their time?”

I knew my audience well enough to know that they had at least 1–3 podcasts that they listened to regularly.

So I started to ask for a list of all of the podcasts my clients listened to.

Then I began pitching them to be interviewed, and sure enough… after some trial and error…I began getting booked on the shows my ideal audience was listening to and sure enough, clients began coming in as a result of it.

But it wasn’t easy, it got off to a rough start at first.

I pitched over 40 shows and not a single response.

So instead of continuing to pitch, I decided to take a real look at what wasn’t working.

After reviewing my pitches it was clear, “These pitches are long forms of text… I wouldn’t even read this damn thing.”

I then realized that if these podcast hosts actually saw my personality and my style of communication that they’d definitely have me on.

This got me thinking, “How could I do that in the form of a pitch?”

And instead of writing my pitch, I turned the webcam on and begin pitching people through the power of storytelling.

I then sent 10 video pitches out and got booked on 8 shows, that’s an 80% conversion rate when 40 pitches used to get me 0 bookings.

And before I knew it I wasn’t worried about where my next client was coming from.

So much so that I never turned back to the old way of getting clients.

I can’t even tell you the last time I sent a DM to get a client.

Why? Because I’ve found a better way.

Why Getting Booked On Podcasts Is A “No-Brainer” Marketing Strategy For High Ticket Coaches

“Okay, it worked for you Adrian, but what makes you think it will work for me?”

Well first off… if you’re reading this I’m damn sure you’re great at what you do, which is why you’re looking to help more people. This here is the first reason I know it will work for you.

Secondly, if you are in the fitness/mindset/business/healing space of high-ticket coaching or course creating, then podcasting is a literal gold mine for you.

Think about it…

  • The people who listen to podcasts are mainly people who are into personal development and business.
  • 60%-70% of small business owners listen to podcasts (this is good for those of you who serve business owners & entrepreneurs.)
  • As of November 2022, 383.7 million people listen to podcasts (up from 144 million in November 2020.)

A LOT of the people who listen to podcasts are much more likely to be interested in what you have to offer.

Not only that, but a majority of podcast listeners make more than $75k a year, with 17% of them making $100,000 to $150,000 annually.

This means they have money to pay for your high-ticket services, and according to surveys, 54% of podcast consumers say that they are more likely to consider the brands they hear advertised on podcasts.

So they are more likely to buy…you see why this is a smart approach for selling your high-ticket services?

Why Podcasting Influences Customers To Buy Easier Than Posting On Social Media

One day I was on a sales call, and when I asked her what inspired her to book a call with me, she said:

“I heard you on The Network Marketing Success Secrets Podcast and The story you shared about your client described my situation down to a T — it was like you actually understood why this is happening.”

And that right there is why I will choose podcast guesting over the old organic route any day.

Podcasting is a powerful tool for influencing customer behavior, as it allows businesses to connect with their audience in a more personal and engaging way than posting on social media.

Unlike social media, where users are bombarded with endless feeds of content, podcasts offer a more focused and immersive listening experience.

And when you are listening to someone tell stories — you’re much more engaged in the content you’re consuming.

Why? Because stories are powerful, they create images in people’s minds that then influence behavior.

Unlike social media posts, which are often limited by the inability to use the right tone, character count, or attention span, podcasts give you the opportunity to use the power of tone, cadence, pauses, and story-telling imagery that paints vivid pictures in the minds of your audience.

It’s like you’re directing a movie, and when you are doing that you can more easily direct — or influence them — to take a certain action.

And the attention of your audience is held longer because they are actually interested in what you have to say — I mean, they did press “play.”

This brings me to another point. Social media is mainly “interruption marketing” where you are trying to interrupt somebodies current focus with your marketing message.

Marketing on podcasts is more “Search” marketing, which means higher interest and more qualified.

Another advantage of podcasts is that they can be consumed anytime, anywhere.

People can listen to them while they’re driving, working out, or even doing household chores.

This makes it convenient for busy individuals to stay up-to-date on their favorite shows and products, which can lead to easier decision-making when it comes to making a purchase.

This also means podcasting is an evergreen marketing funnel that brings in clients far past its release due to people consuming the content later.

In short, podcasting has the power to influence customers to buy through its personal touch, in-depth storytelling, and convenience.

If you’re a high-ticket coach and you’re looking to reach new customers and drive sales, adding podcasting to your marketing strategy is a wise move.
